JR Power news will appear here shortly.
JR Power Motion Scotland Limited was established in 1965.
Primarily in the early years the main business of the company was to supply and fit belts to the Jute Industry in Dundee City and surrounding towns throughout Angus and Perthshire. Belt drives were commonplace throughout the industry and JR Power Motion quickly developed a widespread reputation for their ability and expertise in calculating and recommending drive systems for this popular industry.
A more extensive range of products was soon being stocked and products such as pulleys, sprockets, chain and taperlock bushes were soon available from JR Power Motion.
Always having a progressive outlook, the senior management identified a switch to more modern methods and also the beginning of the demise of the Jute Industry. A move into the electrically operated systems and an expansion of the geographical area of operation gradually materialised.
Having secured an agency for Stephens Transilon & Miraclo Belting at the time of the company formation, new distribution arrangements were agreed with companies such as Wm. Kenyon Ltd, Gates Rubber Company and Warner Electric Limited.
The company founder retired in 1992 and at this time JR Power Motion was incorporated. The new owners retained the experienced staff who, in some instances, had been employed by the company since its inception in 1965.
Other agencies had recently been added to the company portfolio and with what was identified as a "strong hand" in quality products a successful expansion was launched providing an advisory and backup service throughout Scotland.
